Our Story
Why We Built DuaLens
The Ottawa-Gatineau small business market is systematically underserved by both traditional accounting firms and the Toronto-centric fractional CFO industry. Businesses in the $250K–$5M range — trades firms, restaurant groups, professional services practices — are either too large to need a basic bookkeeper or too small to access a full-time CFO.
That gap is where DuaLens operates. The firm's name reflects its methodology: two lenses, one advisory team. The CPA lens provides compliance accuracy and historical clarity. The CFA lens provides forward-looking strategy, capital allocation discipline, and risk management.
Together, we give owner-operated businesses something that neither a bookkeeper nor a tax accountant can: a real-time picture of their financial health and a clear plan for what to do next.

Justin Blank
CFA Charterholder
Justin Blank is a Chartered Financial Analyst with a Master's degree in Economics from the University of Ottawa and over 15 years of experience in senior roles across Canada's financial sector. He has built his career managing credit risk across residential and commercial markets at the institutional level — developing the capital allocation discipline, risk management frameworks, and forward-looking financial modelling that define his advisory approach. As co-founder of DuaLens Financial, Justin brings that same rigour to owner-operated businesses in Ottawa-Gatineau, providing the calibre of financial thinking that has traditionally been available only to large organizations. He also serves on the board of a local non-profit organization. Justin is fully bilingual and advises clients in both English and French.

Philippe Roberge
CPA Designated
Philippe Roberge is a Chartered Professional Accountant with a graduate diploma in professional accounting from the Université du Québec en Outaouais and experience spanning both the public and private sectors of Canada's financial landscape. He has built his career across public accounting and government financial analysis — developing deep expertise in financial statement preparation, audit and review engagements, internal controls, and tax compliance. As co-founder of DuaLens Financial, Philippe brings the technical accounting rigour and compliance precision that owner-operated businesses need to operate with confidence — from clean, audit-ready financial statements to bookkeeping systems engineered for efficiency. He is proficient in QuickBooks, Xero, CaseWare, and Power BI. Philippe is fully bilingual and advises clients in both English and French.
